Fine Arts Students,
We look forward to the Fall 2020 semester and creating a safe and supportive environment to help you achieve your educational goals. With this in mind, most of PVCC’s classes will be primarily online or live online for the upcoming semester. Many of you have expressed disappointment in not being able to have a fully in-person class schedule for Fall 2020 semester, and we are just as disheartened, yet we must make these adjustments to ensure minimal disruption to your academic journey.
Your Fall Learning Options
You deserve the best educational experience you can get this Fall. As such, PVCC is offering a variety of ways to learn in this new online environment. This will allow you to accomplish your educational goals while balancing your life, reducing stress and giving you more time to pursue other interests.
On Campus Safety
Although Face-to-Face instruction on campus is limited, any in-person activities will take place with appropriate safety precautions such as physical distance and sanitation measures, and will be held in small, stable groups. All students, faculty and staff are required to wear face coverings. Having most classes online will allow the physical space for these few classes to meet for limited times in-person.
Succeeding Online
Many of our students have asked if Live Online, Online or Hybrid classes are harder than Face-to-face classes. Online classes are no more or less difficult than campus classes – you’re just spending more time on your computer. From the support of your academic advisors and instructors, to tutoring services, and even our Technology Help Desk, we’re here to help when you need it.
Paying for College
Many of our students have told us that while PVCC costs much less than a four-year university, some are struggling to pay for tuition. No need to stress...we will be offering new tuition plans for the Fall 2020 semester, allowing you to take more classes at a lower tuition cost. These details are being finalized, so we will provide more information later this Summer. In the meantime, you can find out more details about paying for college here.
Limited On Campus Services
Starting on Monday, July 6, 2020, we will have limited in-person registration support at the Student Welcome Center (Union Hills) and at Orion Hall (Black Mountain) for those who want to enroll for Fall 2020. PVCC’s campuses (Union Hills and Black Mountain) and campus services will have limited access to the public with the exception of students who are on-campus for specific classes or labs.
